Paul Lemberg and I share a similar goal in the work that we each do. Ultimately, both of us strive to help business owners use productivity to increase business success.
Paul has developed something called the Formula 5 system in which he lists 5 aspects of a business that can be altered to grow the business. The first 3 parts of his Formula 5 are:
1) Increase your conversion rate.
2) Increase your value per customer.
3) Increase the number of leads.

If you’re just starting out in business, this blog won’t apply to you… yet. But if you’ve been in business for a while, I think this will really resonate with you:
You get up in the morning to start your day. You open your email. There are 25 new emails plus a dozen from yesterday that you didn’t get to. You go to your task management system; there are a dozen tasks waiting, perhaps shaded with various colors of green (good!) and red (never good!). Then you look at your schedule. Then you look at your wall calendar. Then you check the proprietary task management systems that four of your clients have set up for you to use. Oh, and you haven’t checked voicemail yet.

A friend of mine is a freelancer and he is a self-confessed tyrant of metrics. He analyzes the proposals he sends out and monitors how many people call him as a result. He analyzes every action in his sales process and has goals and can tell me at the end of the day how close
he came to achieving his daily goals. He claims that he’s not obsessed with charts, per se, but with the productivity that results from them.
It’s the old “what gets measured gets managed” adage. Makes sense (even if it seems excessive to the rest of us).

Exercise is something we all know we need but we often avoid or overlook until it’s too late. Our muscles aren’t just physical, though. We have mental “muscles” that need working out, too.
Recently, I read a great article Forbes by Dr. Douglas McKenna about this very thing. McKenna used to work for Microsoft and now runs his own coaching firm called Oceanside Institute. Thus, he brings a great balance of big business and small business sensibility to this concept.
You can read the full article, called “Exercise Your Self Control Muscle”, but I will summarize it here for you.

On August 1st, Aaron Hoos and I released the ebook How to Generate MORE BUSINESS and HIGHER PROFIT from a WordPress Website. The book walks readers step-by-step through the process of creating a powerful, business-building website using WordPress. It can be a time-consuming and even expensive process but our ebook shows you how to do it easily and affordably.
Prior to the book’s release, customers bought it for the special presale price of $97 and they got the very first look at the book, providing feedback and insight that we used to add new content the book!
As soon as the book was released, the price rose to $197, an introductory price that would last until August 15th.
Well, yesterday was August 15th and I opened up my email and couldn’t believe the response! Orders were flooding in and people were *trying* to sneak in under the wire.
So I called up the co-author and decided to extend the price.
But not for long. This isn’t going to be an extension that lasts forever. We believe that the book is well worth far more than the regular price of $297. But we also recognize that it’s the summer and people are on vacation and not checking their email every day. And for those who worked furiously to get in under the wire, we’re going to make it easy for you: We’ve extended the introductory price of $197 for just a few more days.
On August 20th at 5pm, the price is going up to $297. (And this time, it really is, so no procrastinating!)
So click here to read more and order the book that helps you set up WordPressInASecond today with the extended introductory price!
Cheers!

“A business without meetings is… an enjoyable place to work”.
Haha, okay that might be a serious anti-meeting sentiment but I know that most of you chuckled because deep down you feel the same way. Meetings are rarely an enjoyable experience. And yet, we have them and can’t imagine doing business without them.
