@Lance - there is a perfect balance for everyone and I think it is a trial and error that you have to test out and see. I personally have 'favorite' blogs that I comment on and then I randomly pick 1-2 of my non favorites from my RSS weekly.

Heather,
And this other thing that's been bouncing around for me lately is - how much to comment vs. creating my own content. As in - if I'm out commenting, that may be taking away from time I could use to create new material for my site. Still, I find much value in the conversations that can develop - the adders and agree-ers definitely can add lots of insight and value.

@Barbara Don't we all feel that way. I still have a few blogs out there that I built and have not begun to work on yet (I just love this one - it is me!). Of course - CommentLuv has done an excellent job boosting the commenting arena (but I don't have to tell you that!)

Hi Heather,

That's true, isn't it? When we leave comments on other blogs, we're more apt to get comments on ours. When I first started blogging I had that "if you build it, they will come mentality". WRONG! I soon found out in order for others to find me, I had to get my name out there. Although it can take time to develop an online presence, for me, the time spent doing that has been well worth it.

Spammers? Oh yea! Thank goodness we have our spam blockers. :)
