@Christine - I am so happy to hear you say that :) I really do like that people enjoy (and look forward) to my reading lists. I have seen several people pop up with them lately as well, it seems to be catching - I too enjoy reading the lists that other people are offering.

Hi Heather,

Like Aaron, it appears that I too need to get out more as here I am on Saturdays looking forward to your eclectic list of post ;)

And indeed it was Aaron's article that most spoke to me this week. He makes a great point about client work often having a sell-by date. There's sometimes a fear that we might lose income if we say goodbye to such clients. That may be true for a short time depending on the space they occupy in our portfolio. But in the long term I've always found it better to act to protect both our own brand and the perceived value of what has been done to that point.

I also want to highlight your point about "enjoying your work more". I think there's a mindset in many of the professions that one must take whatever work and whatever clients come along. However, I am a big advocate for people reminding themselves that they have studied and worked hard to occupy the professional space they do, and that they have an obligation to themselves to make sure that they give themselves a meaningful experience of what, after all, occupies large amounts of our time

Every Friday I sit around waiting for you to post your reading list. (I'm not kidding about that). And to my great joy, I've earned a spot on your list this week! Thanks, Heather, I appreciate that.

My post notwithstanding, you have another great lineup of compelling reading this week.
